The above photo was taken whilst on holiday in Virginia. Steve thought he had a problem
with the car but these kind folks checked it out and put his mind at rest.
To show his appreciation he played them the "Salty Dog Blues " !
They were really nice folks !
Steve is Midlands born and bred but his heart lies in the Eastern and Southern States
of America. He has visited such music Capitals as Detroit, Chicago, Nashville, Dallas
and Austin Texas, as well as New Orleans.
He has met many Guitarists. The late Chet Atkins, James Burton, who played lead for
Ricky Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Everly Brothers and John Denver,
As well as our great "home-grown" picker Albert Lee.
Recently he met Thom Bresh who is the the son of the late and great Merle Travis.
He has also met Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Tammy Wynette, Marty Robbins, and
more recently, Liam Gallagher (from Oasis), Sir Peter O'sullivan and John Francome.
His current favourite guitar players are, Brent Mason, Vince Gill, Brad Paisley and Tony Rice.
If you have not heard of these people I would suggest you give them a view on "You Tube"
and also don't forget Jerry Douglas, the best Dobro player ever.
Steve's background to music covers over three decades from solo to sextet performances
covering a variety of venues such as hotels, clubs and even some theatre work.
He has been accepted into the Registry of Guitar Tutors, for passing their exams with Distinction.
The Registry of Guitar Tutor Exams are part of the London College of Music and Thames Valley University curriculums and Sir Paul McCartney is a current Patron of the R.G.T.
